Subject: The Duty Of An Elder

One of the first commandments to the church was .Hearken ,O ye elders of My church.Behold,verily I say unto you,I give unto you this first commandment,that you shall go forth in My name,(EVERY ONE OF YOU) D&C 42;1a,2a and leave they house and home,(EXCEPT) when thou shalt desire to see thy family.(D&C 18;5e) D&C83;22 Behold the High Priest should Travel,and also the Elders,and also the Lesser Priest;(Not to misunderstand the way it was used,lesser priest,For in Gods eyes,all High priest,elder,priest ,deacon,and members are all equal in his sight. But before the death of the prophet,the rest of the sentence tells you who was to watch over the church.Let us read.But the deacon and teacher should be appointed to watch over the church,to be standing ministers unto the church.Now if the Elders were doing their jobs,they would not be here, but would be about the job that they were sent unto this earth to do.And now I will show you what that job is .For some have forgotten what it is.Also I am going to show you that man can not change the will of God.For God is God and all his words will be fulfilled.Even all his words.In the unpublished revelations,page 89,part 47,verse3; Elders in My church are to preach My gospel,and to travel abroad from land to land,and from place to place ,to gather Mine elect unto Me,saith the Lord,( and let this be their labors form hence forth amen) Now let us read (D&C 108;3a-c) Send forth the elders of My church unto the nations which are afar off; unto the islands of the sea;send forth unto foreign lands;call upon all nations.And behold and lo,this shall be their cry,and the voice of the Lord unto all people;Go you forth unto the land of Zion,Now I ask you this question.Are these not the same meaning? Then why have you not done this ?If the (D&C28;2c,d)says ye are called to bring to pass the gathering of My elect,and the decree hath gone forth from the Father that they shgall be gathered in unto ONE place,then WHY have you not moved on it?For you have already been told to do so.If you are not already working for this cause,then when the endowment comes,you will not be one of the faithful servants that will receive of it.For you could not hear Him,ad you had His words before you all along.For if you keep not the commandments you can not rceive of his fullness.All that labor in Zion must labor for Zion ,or must parish.(2Nephi 12;76)
