Does anyone know what the "fiasco" deals with, stealing taxpayer property, lying about overtime? Just curious? Did this man work or does he still work in the DPW?

Briefly, the story was that Costello took over the Brigantine Public Works and turned it around, in the process greatly improving the community. The problem was that he discovered widespread corruption and abuse and was in the process of blowing the whistle on it when the various factions who stood to be damaged by his whistleblowing got together and conspired to have him removed. A city employee tragically murdered his wife and then committed suicide, and the conspirators took the opportunity to publicly blame Costello, who was then forced to resign in shame. He sued both the city and the Teamsters union, and won 1.2 million when the city decided to pay him off rather than have all their dirty laundry come out. The Teamsters settlement was sealed and has been kept secret since. The city of Brigantine refuses to reveal any deatils of the case or settlement, and there is a rumor of a book being written about the who0le scandal.
