I think when you socialize with friends, you're probably sitting down with people of like tastes and opinions, so I don't think it is remarkable that your opinions in local radio should be similar. However, in my opinion, I would say:
Brightest - if you mean the one who has made the best use of information/education, I would probably say Jeff Whitaker.
Most articulate - Barbara Altman. She has the best speaking voice, too.
Thought provoking - I think each host has, at one time or another, brought up a provocative issue. What's thought-provoking is often in the ear of the listener. A host can bring up what he/thinks is a hot issue and get no calls.
Stimulating - If you mean stimulating to be generating interest/response among the widest audience, I would have to say Jeff Whitaker, Seth Grossman and Don Williams for this reason: they aren't limited to the usual callers, the ones you hear call every show every day. They get callers like Nick from Delaware, Terry from Marmora, Jerry from Woodbine, the woman from Rehoboth Beach (who calls Don). The hosts who bring in listeners from the broadest audience are probably stimulating the most interest.
Gives you a reason to listen - Unless they promise a particular interview or feature, I think, in local radio, the reason to listen doesn't have a lot to do with the host. However, I think the reason people DON'T listen has everything to do with the host.
Talked about during the day after the show - Not much of our conversation has to do with who said what on the radio.
Not afraid to take the tough stand - Don Williams.
Dependable - I think all of them are. That is, they're there when they're supposed to be, handle the show in a professional fashion.
Honest - I don't think honesty is a quality that can be evaluated by someone's performance on the radio.
And my own category - caller you would most like to have co-host: Larry from Dennis Township and Mike from Somers Point.

May I? -- TC, 21:41:42 03/12/03 Wed
he takes tough stands against wimpy war protesters
a tough stand against shady improprieties in AC. Isn't afraid to criticize the Langford gang, unlike another stooge host whom Langford has on a leash.

Re: May I? -- Williams Sanctioned Every Whelan Scam, 11:00:54 03/13/03 Thu
Shame on you TC, Williams promoted every politicval scam of Whelan's for 12 long years. Williams never challenged the accumulated debt, the lawsuits and more. This is the Administration that objective finders of fact, aka Moody's is crediting with restoring fiscal responsibility.
And, yeah, it really takes guts to take on freaky war protesters.

Re: May I? -- U lie, 23:48:55 03/13/03 Thu
Hurley, Your such a spineless chicken sh*t. When you get enough guts to challenge Langford and his gang of racist, anti-semetic crooks, then you can criticize Williams.

Re: May I? -- Williams never, ever criticized Whelan, 07:15:10 03/14/03 Fri
Whether Whelan was caling the AC Police Oficer's Mafia Men and all of his fiscal irresponsibilities, Don Williams supported Whelan every step of the way. Rather then criticize Hurley, just face the truth. Whelan bankrupted AC and Williams applauded him every steo of the way.
And since everything ever written about Williams gets tagged on Hurley - does it stand to reason that every hateful thing and there is much more of that - is written by Williams?

As always, obsessed w/Williams. Obsessed w/ Whitaker. Your sick envy that you always finish second to him is obvious. Seek help.

Re: May I? -- Your delusional and need prayers, 18:44:20 03/14/03 Fri
As legitimate as a 3 dollar bill. The truth is only according to you. Your sick, and you spread gossip and innuendo. You will have to deal with your maker one day. I pray that you'll have an answer for Him. In the mean time - Shame on you. Seek forgiveness.
