HEY!-How come no-one told me that it was Throw John Labooviay (sp?) under the bus day????? OR-was what happened on JEFF'S show a spontanious (sp x2?) eruption after caller LINDA got the ball rolling???????

I think it was a snowballing reaction to LeBoutlier(sp?)- specifically. I don't think it was his anti-Bush stance, I've heard other conservatives crititicize the policies of both Presidents Bush (Alan Keyes for example), but without that very personal venom. There really was something in the tenor (rather than the content) of JB's tone two days ago that had been kept in check before, and I think it did strike a nerve.
And I think, too, that it is another reminder that the host doesn't really control the show. It just takes one call about a groundswell issue to take it in another direction.

Well, the listeners certainly had their say!!!! I thought that Mr. L was very accusatory on JEFF'S show and I did find what he was saying (about BUSH & POWS) -hard to believe. Maybe he thought that since POWS are a current issue, people would be more interested in his campaign to rescue VIETNAM POWS, and the soldier that he claims has been held POW since the GULF WAR (and of course the giant CONSPIRACY that he claims)????? WHITAKER'S RADIO website has a link to La???(sp)'s NEWSMAX site,and there is a photo of the guy there. (another person who does not look like they "sound" on RADIO,in my opinion)
Although many of the callers were mad about what was said the day before yesterday, the LOCAL complaint with JEFF'S guest has been brought up before,AND even the TONY,RICH,RUSTY,temporary boycott, had something to do with the idea that JEFF was not "LOCAL" enough.
I heard a caller on-the-air yesterday,mention how great it would be if JEFF had a two-hour show.????? Like i said when MIKE brought up that idea here, A REALLY GOOD IDEA!
I don't know if WHITAKER can make really dramatic changes, but he does have a clear opportunity to "take sides" and get more involved with LOCAL issues since he doesn't have to be a "just-the-facts" newscaster. Of course it is a little risky (because people do get angry over disagreements), but I've heard JEFF get a little bit beat-up on issues (on his RADIO show), and he usually bounces back pretty well.
