Date Posted: 14:42:10 11/06/09 Fri The mid-atlantic provisional schedule came out in early September with days and times of all the competitions. [The only change between that and the final schedule was that the time for one day's results changed by 1/2 an hour.] [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
| [> Subject: It would be nice to see it, even some regular feis have schedules with this much time before the date. Oireachtas I would have thought more organized and ahead of game!?! | |

Date Posted: 19:25:34 11/07/09 Sat Even if the STAGE is bigger the girls all want to be in the same place most of the time. Most of the choreography is designed so that dancers are in front of the adjs as much as possible. I'm guessing we'll see a lot of bumps- I hope no one gets hurt. I hope they reconsider. | [> [> [> Subject: you miss the point, well MY point. I'm less concerned about placement and performance and more worried about collisions. Seen many with just 2 at a time and a handful have required dancers being helped off the stage. It's tough enough to stay injury-free. Do we really need to risk this? | |

| [> Subject: I feel every age group should be two at a time for big competitions!! These girls all work hard for this and we are there all day and all night anyway!! It should be considered for the all majors....big or little they all move around that stage and kick high. | |

| [> [> Subject: I don't think there's any reason they can't dance 3 at a time up through at least U12. To have these groups go 2 at a time will delay the other groups after them endlessly. Dd often danced 3 at a time up through U15. She is 5'4" and there were dancers in her comp as tall as 5'9". They all survived it just fine. | |

Date Posted: 07:14:28 11/08/09 Sun I do not think the OP was referring to just the size of the dancer behind the his/her reasoning to want dancers to dance 2 at a time. These children work very hard, and wouldn't be nice if the judges had a few more seconds to be able to evaluate them? By having the dancers dance 2 at time, it allows the judges more time per dancers, for evaluating. I agree with the OP that it would be great if at majors the dancers, in all levels danced two at time. I realize that it may take longer, however, these children deserve that, and we as parents pay a LOT of money for classes, practice, equipment, travel, etc... I just don't understand why that would be unreasonable. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
| [> Subject: Yes, they survive it, but let them DANCE!! and not have to worry about kicking someone or being kicked or being blocked out of the judges sight...this is an art and and sport.... | |
