been watching the news as of late and even saw a bunch of mexican kids walking down the street protest against the immigration bill that is going thru congress....

IMHO those kids were idiots, because they were ditching classes.... and its the last thing I think mexican kids whould be doing cause here in california latin americans have one of the highest drop out rates from high school!

The idea of a $1000 dollar fine or something like that seems pretty lame for undocumentaded economic immigrants who lived here in the states for five years.... Sure lots of undocumentaded economic immigrants can come up with a monitary fine.... but does it really allow them to feel part of the community? What I'd like for a fine is kind of like a community based program, have undocumentaded economic immigrants put in a 1000 hours of public works, building up poor neighborhoods doing pubic works (kind of like the old WPA program which helped build america in the 1930's) and learning about american history... this way ya kill two birds with one stone. Seems to me a resonable price to become a US citizen.
