The Story
No one really knew why they left, well why most the humans left. Most of us who had
owners were dumped in the street. Some went along with their masters, and the wild dogs
kept on living their normal lives. Some say they thought the reason was there might be
another plague... another plague of rats. Others imagined they ran off to make a better
profit, like the gold rush. But no one knew the answer, all we knew was that life in the
city had changed; no more dogcatcher (a plus), but not as much garbage which for the
street dogs serves as food. More hideous, discusting rats, bigger plague... Well, we
knew we couldn't do anything about it so we adapted. We, dogs, thrived. Not only in
the city, but also in the wild... That all changed... A major plague of rats swarmed
and multiplied by the thousands. That wouldn't be a big problem except as they
coultivated so did a disease. The rats spread it faster than the blink of an eye, and
soon it reached us, in the city, and country. We tried to fend off the disease, but we
couldn't. We tried to adapt, but it was a failure. The sickness killed off a large number
of the rodents, but the same outcome was ours. Still today territories are vacant
waiting to be filled. We ask if you will join us and rebuild what we once had.
But beware, here the unexpected happens often.
