It makes sense to deal with people who proclaim their dishonesty. At one time, you might have dealt with local merchants. For many things, you would enter brick-and-mortar shops. They had to be reliable because they needed repeat business. Even those dodgy-looking guys standing near the vacant lot wanted repeat custom, so they had to deliver something reasonable.
