It hit -27F on top of Vail Pass this week (the heater on our jeep was even blowing cold air), but the merc has stabilized around 0 the past few days around Winter Park/Berthoud Pass. But it's a "dry cold". The good news is it sounds like the ice fishing season has finally started back home. Any prospective GR area ice anglers out there?

I could be talked into an Isle Royal trip. I'm not sure if it's true "FBET material", but I'd love to do an 'unofficial' trip & maybe bring my fiancee. I almost did it last summer with Patty (of Rock Island fame), but chickened out in favor of more local paddling. I have another paddling friend in The Cities that would love to put together an Isle Royal or Apostle Islands trip. She is a phenomenal paddler and would be a terrific person for you to get to know. BTW, she's looking for people to go in on a Patagonia trip in '08.

Pathfinder, er, Fabio (WTF?), had an idea of the Superior coast near Agawa. I have read about that coastline and have heard rumors of caves in the area but could never find the coordinates. If we could combine moderate paddling, spelunking, and hiking into the same trip I think we would have the nucleus of a true FBET trip. I'd be REALLY excited to find an inland river/spelunking/hiking trip that ends at a Great Lake.

Drop me an email & we can start working on the details of what this could look like.
