Phew, I was afraid I had missed something and that I was able to go. I couldn't have come. I was first away at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2006 (lots of work; little sleep. SOme neat stuff but nothing blew me away) and then a week on Isle Roayle hiking and paddling (yes, both). When I was hiking I was carrying my boat. I think you'll get a kick out of what I was paddling: an Alpacka packraft. Stable, no real tracking, makes donuts like nothing else, and slow on flat water - but only weighs about 4.75 pounds (adds about 9 pounds to me standrad week long kit when you toss in PFD, paddle, and a different pack). Had a blast. Wanna do more with this little guy (really meant for rivers). Maybe something in Agawa Canyon. Great for exploring wateery places you need to backpack too. Not something I'd take on a big open water trip (man would that be slow slow slow) though I know people who do.

Glad you all had fun at the camp.
