Days followed weeks and Michael started to heal and even see shadows and colors where darkness previously reigned. At some point Michael contacted his uncle Walter to request an extension of his vacation time, a code of sorts used so that his parents could not discern his whereabouts or the fact that he had been seriously injured. Walter sent a wire transfer to Nikita’s bank account that would serve to cover approximately 6 additional months of ‘after care’, as Michael liked to call his stay with Nikita. The woman vociferously complained about Walter paying for Michael’s care, especially since she had not asked nor have intentions of asking for additional funds. Michael laughed saying that babysitting was not part of their arrangement, but Nikita still fumed and vowed not to use the additional funds.

The friendship and camaraderie that grew between the couple was only marred by the lack of trust Michael showed when dealing with certain topics Nikita wanted to discuss further and that he refused to discuss at all. For example, the man had already confessed to being in hiding, as if he was part of a witness protection program, but he refused to give her the reasons for such a predicament and that pissed the blonde off. He also admitted that he was hurt and lost his eyesight in separate events having nothing to do with an automobile accident and everything to do with covert antiterrorist activities. His nightmares were only allayed by Nikita’s proximity and even then he showed signs of great strain and stress. She blossomed into an even more beautiful person on the inside and her heart filled with Michael Samuelle while Michael learned to mellow and became more fractioned as his soul started creeping back into his essence.

Nikita learned that Michael had loved with great intensity and that he lost his beloved to circumstances he didn’t want to recall; this made the woman sad and at the same time a bit jealous for Michael showed true emotion when speaking of his loss. He also told her about his parents, a ruthless yet beautiful mother and a stern but somehow sensitive father who loved his mother too much and found his job to be his destiny. Nikita putting the puzzle pieces together was almost able to complete the complex enigma that was Michael Samuelle. And this mysterious allure, compounded with the incredible looks of the man, made him just plain irresistible to the pining owner of the ‘You, Me and Dupuis.’

One early fall evening when the moon had but a sliver to go before showing its full face, there was a knock on Nikita’s newly painted door. Before Michael could warn her once more to be careful, she opened the door and flung herself at the elderly couple standing on its threshold. It was at that moment that Michael’s eyesight return with the same efficacy that it had departed and he saw for the first time the beauty that was the blonde woman. He was freaked, needless to say, for the turn of events, but decided to keep his mouth shut until he found it appropriate to divulge his new found good luck.

Doing something totally out of character, the man instead of assessing the new arrivals and taking mental inventory of who they were, took in the beauty and looks of the woman. He observed from behind his dark glasses the shapely figure, tall and nubile that encased Nikita, and drowned in the blue pools of her expressive eyes while being blinded once more by the sparkle of her golden hair. He controlled his need by pressing a decorative pillow on his newly awakened lap and though himself a cad for having such impure thoughts after just recently gaining his eyesight. He followed the curve of her spine, the softness of her rump, the lines of her breast and especially the movement of her curves as she expressively welcomed Adrian and George. He stopped and got a grip – Adrian and George had showed up, could Madeline and Paul be far behind?

“Oh my god, if it isn’t The Captain and Tennille.” Nikita exclaimed with pure glee in her voice.

The woman smiled and hugged the blonde remarking, “Muskrat, some things never change.”

The man smiled and embraced Nikita while both parties looked at a quiet and serene Michael Samuelle, “So who is this handsome young man? Adrian asked.

“I do apologize since I am just so taken aback by this visit. I didn’t know you knew my address.” Nikita said and followed with, “This is Michael Samuelle, and if it wasn’t for you I would have never met him.”

“Oh yes, Mr. Samuelle, what a pleasure it is to finally meet you, we sent your deposit back to your uncle.” Adrian said.

She moved towards Michael while George stayed by Nikita who was explaining that the address of the little cottage was in all the legal documents they signed when they sold her the yacht. George continued explaining that the couple had gone home to Great Britain to put some affairs in order before coming back to this magical place they wanted to retire in. Nikita immediately offered them a room at her home until they found their own space.

Adrian proceeded to speak to Michael in French, “How are you feeling? Does she know yet?”

Michael bowed a bit, kissed the woman’s extended hand and answered, “Fine.” And then, “Of course not; it is too early and that was not the mission parameter.”

“English you two, neither Nikita nor I speak the language.” George lied, and continued, “Mr. Samuelle, we do apologize for the mix-up, but after meeting Nikita and selling her the boat we forgot your reservations until it was too late to contact you.”

“No problem, Nikita has taken good care of me.” Michael said smirking.

Nikita walked towards the kitchen with Adrian while Walter, accompanied by a cane wielding Michael, brought the couple’s luggage into the comfortable home. While the women prepared tea, Nikita gushed about the boat trip and of course her new found friend – Michael. Adrian thought that no wonder the man was considered their best operative, his skills were impeccable and as always he had done an excellent job gaining the woman’s trust. In the meantime, by the car, Michael reported to George the progress of the mission and George explained that Jones had requested that Michael valentine his daughter in an expedited manner.

“The Valentine mission is in fool swing my boy. Talk about deep blood covers.” George said, not letting Michael know that he and Adrian were the famous – Mr. Jones.
