In reply to: Loveroy 's message, "I Rembmer Sarah - Chapter 22 and forward" on Friday, October 14, 10:37:19am

Adrian Jones sent a limo to retrieve Nikita and baby Sarah from the Dion home. The usually reserved woman was noticeably distraught when she asked her stepdaughter to join them at Oversight. Michael’s lifeless body was being transported to the Medlab by the Medievac team and the blonde woman’s arrival was coordinated to coincide with Adam’s ingress before his father reached the destination.

Seymour Birkoff would accompany Adam to the organization and the gentile woman hoped the child would accept his parents’ death better if Nikita were present. After all, the woman and the child had bonded over a Harry Potter book and Nikita needed Adam now as much as Adam needed the blonde. Nikita was wearing a black cashmere sweater, black floppy hat, black skirt Dior length, flat boots and an equally black jacket and she kept her eyes lowered as she wallowed in her mourning. Little Sarah wore a pink onecy outfit with bows and flowers, and a hooded coat and innocently gurgled at her desperate mom.

Nikita embraced Sarah trying hard to hold on to her sanity, she was loosing her mind and was doing it with aplomb, which was not customary to the pretty woman. The baby brought an eerie serenity to the woman’s broken heart. As Nikita played with the baby's tiny fist she remembered Michael and the baby's face sadenned at seeing her mother's distress.

As to Nikita’s other emotional support namely her spirits, they had not been around for a couple of days and she was feeling doubly abandoned by her friends and of course by Michael or in other words everyone who loved her. Damn Michael, why did he send her away? She could have helped him, perhaps now he would not be dead; Nikita was full of remorse and regret.

Her limo pulled into van access as Birkoff’s little VW Beetle convertible turned off its engines. Adam bounded out of the car with an arm full of video games and a smile on his face. At seeing Nikita, baby in hand, he rushed over yelling greetings and salutations and asking all kinds of questions about the baby girl who smiled and cooed at the little boy. Nikita held back tears, as did Seymour, and introduced the soon to be siblings to each other, rebelling in the moment of normalcy and deciding to keep the deaths from the boy for the now.

Michael Samuelle followed quietly Simone and the recognizable form of Mr. Jones to a brightly lit room that was surprisingly familiar to the handsome man. He wore forest green jeans with weathered frays fashionably strewn about his powerful legs and a crisp starched light color shirt that enhanced the beauty of his features. He wanted to ask where he was but thought better of it, after all the excitement he felt in the pit of his stomach grew by leaps and bounds as another warm-fuzzy memory peaked his expectations.

“The room is a compilation of happy memories or happy times and now Michael we are going to let you see those who came before that you loved and shared blissfulness with while you traveled through your life.”

Michael asked, in his typical serious fashion, “Where are Elena and her father?”

“Oh don’t worry, they are being processed. Remember All who repent have a place in Heaven.”

Michael insisted, “Did they repent?”

Simone spoke in a humorous tone, “Who doesn’t.”

“I know of only one and he does sport a good tan all the time.”

The next spans of time was spent within a cloud of total joy as person after person from Michael’s past marched before him sharing the memories and emotions that come with an indescribable euphoria. Michael was not able to discern if it was hours or days that he spent facing his past, it just seemed like seconds marched before him like the sands in a clock, just one-grain at a time. The happiness that he evaded all his life came towards him with wave after wave of crashing delight and the man’s face hurt from smiling as the enormous monitor ticked off name after name and memory after memory.

Next came those who he thought he wronged, those he believed he eradicated in vain, and there he learned the greatest lesson he ever experienced, for he realized that the ‘Good of the Many’ was the key to all things. This entire episode made the stoic man understand that he had been a good man, that his actions during his lifetime were preordained, that ‘Thy will’ had been done and that the only mistake he was responsible for was a common one. Michael, like everyone else before him, had not embraced the Peace that he was given. The handsome man had as those who preceded him not understood that his Peace was there for the taking, a gift from above.

Michael was then granted the ‘cliché’ of a lifetime by being allowed to meet the one person, dead or alive, he wanted most to interview. Those present such as Sarah and Chuck waited with baited breath for Michael’s choice. At their turn, they had met Mahatma Ghandi and Mata Hare and wondered whom the man would want to face, after all the others in the room also met diverse luminaries from history.

HE smiled knowing that Michael, one of his favorites, somehow already understood the politics of the afterlife. Michael knew that later during his stint in Heaven and while basking in his immortality, he would have a chance to encounter these individuals. HE knew Michael wouldn’t waste his choice and somehow HE knew whom Michael would pick, of course the handsome man didn’t disappoint.

So rubbing his chin Michael said without an instant of hesitation, “I want to speak with Nikita Wirth.”
