This Happy Breed will be on Turner Classic Movies next week Sunday. That's on Sunday July 8. It shows at 9:30 AM on my cable system; the time may vary for y'all.

I have already programmed my DVR. I have it on prerecorded DVD, but it is region 2. I also have it on tape; recorded from PBS about a kerzillion years ago, so I am definitely doing it on DVD again.

Frank Gibbons, Robert Newton's role in This Happy Breed, is probably the most understated role he did in his entire career. Not a single rolling eye or "Arrrrrr" in sight! It has always been one of my favorites. If you haven't seen it yet, it is a MUST for any RN fan, and if you have, but don't have it on tape or DVD, RECORD IT!!!!
