OK, I feel very left out here. I’ve staggered through three Banes & Nobles, a Borders and a Bookstar (why so many bookstores start with a “B” is a question for some other chatboard) -- and no one here has “Pirate Magazine.” Although the chain may carry it, I’m told that individual bookstores are not required to do so.

Apparently the so-called “historic” magazines -- meaning those obsessed with WWII, the wild west, and the Civil War, are stocked on the shelves with the “men’s magazines.” But even there, amid the Maxims (very ah, historic those) and the numerous journals about how to appreciate good cigars or stereo equipment, no pirates were to be found. It isn’t like I live in a small town, or a small state, or a third world country. I live in California….

Bottom line, and let this serve as a warning for anyone else on the same quest. Pirates may indeed be lurking out there, but it might not be easy to find them…

I work at a bookstore that carries it, it's called Brinks. Do you have one anywhere around you?
