Subject: Rich Mountain scenario details

Boys - looks like we will be the one CS company who will get plenty
of exercise on the mountain. I can't reveal too much except to say
we need to be in shape - enough to do several miles fairly quickly
in rolling terrain in 80 deg weather with full equipment. Won't be
a death march or anything but I do not want to leave anyone behind.
So hit the trail often this Spring.

Perhaps the coolest thing about our role is the fact the Bailey
family (dad and sons and cousin) in our company will be walking
exactly in the footsteps of g-g-great grandfather John Bailey of Co
I 25th Virginia. Also, we will be fighting on the exact same ground
where company member Mark Terry's ancestor fought in the Hardy
Blues, Co H, 25th Virginia. I cannot recall ever being part of a
company with such a personal connection to the original soldiers on
the original ground. For me this is quite an honor. Plan on a
special ceremony at the beginning of the weekend.

More details: Plan on arriving well before dark on Friday (gets dark pretty late). The
officers have a walkthru at 3:00 PM Friday and the NCO's will be
organizing the troops and preparing for Guard Mount that night.

I have paid for 15 of the small Gilham's reprints made by 1st Sgt
Tackitt - if you want one send him a note at silas@zipcon.net.
