Subject: Uniform support for LFR

Comrades - am hoping to get some papers on the Savannah Volunteer Guard soon to further refine our impressions for Lee's Final Retreat.

I spoke to Chris Daley about a "deal" on Tait jackets and he stated that there is not much he can do below $235 because of the cost of the imported linen lining fabric and facing pieces - the bill for all the fabric is $125. Also, if you have a blue collared Tait, it will be too hard for him to re-trim it.

Note that he is about to produce RD 3 jackets, for $195. Those are perfectly acceptable as well. If you want to apply some trim on the collars (see Echoes pg 137) that would be great, but not required. I will ask him if he can trim them himself if anyone is interested.

As an assist, I will have both a Tait with red collar and a Child's RD 3 for folks to use at LFR. The Tait is currently spoken for but that may change. Size is 44-46.

As far as caps go, I will have 2 artillery caps I could lend out as well, size 7 1/4 to 7 3/8.

Bottom line: While it would be great to have all 20 or so of us in red collared Taits, as long as we can have some with red trim and all of us in some kind of BG Kersey jacket, that will be good. Caps are preferred, but again, many of those boys may have worn slouches by then.
