Richard - thanks so much for the information - helps me understand the interesting mix of ancestors I have, from the Borders to Eire and much in between.

Have been boning up on my marching tunes. For those that remember, we were on about the 7th mile of the Mansfield march after a long day of fighting and drilling, the sun was going down and the shadows of the line of Texans (15th TX Infantry this time) were cast on the trees by the side of the road. Our feet were barking and we were very hungry...but I could not have been happier. I looked over at Davey Turpin and Richard Hale and they both carried their rifle-muskets the same way. I asked what that was and Richard replied - "why thats the SLR carry." Both are real soldiers of the Queen and I was proud to march beside them as we whistled Commonwealth marching tunes. Made the last two miles bearable and created an unforgettable memory. For those of you who have never met the Lazy Jacks you are in for a treat!!!

Oh and if LJ Patrick Reardon, the only foreign born Trustee of the Museum of the Confederacy, tells you that you have a Southern Heart, it is high praise indeed. Ask him to tell you the story surrounding that phrase.
