Subject: Our Plan for Mansfield
In reply to: Dusty Lind 's message, "Re: Federals at Mansfield (DO WE WANT TO CONSIDER GALVANIZING?)" on 02/24/04 2:18:15pm

Boys I will be talking with Frank and the staff this week. The more I think about it, the more I am inclined to just can working with the Pleasant Hill folks entirely and doing our own living history at both ends, including demonstrations, fund raising speeches, etc.

We don't want to be too hasty though so we will stick with the plan as is until we get more info. 2-300 feds may all of a sudden show up and it may be somewhat worthwhile.

The issue is the $5 each we are sending to Solice for PHill - we have not sent that yet and it gives us leverage.

Personally, I am there to save the battlefield and bring the 15th TX to life, so galvanizing is not an option for me, as it might distract us somewhat.

heck, I would stand in the middle of LA 175 and flag down spectators for donations if I thought it would do some good. Maybe we can all hang out around Adam Cecil's QM Stores sutler tent on Sunday and solicit donations with Mark's quilt and other raffle prizes (like the Pam Lind socks I will be wearing). That is where we will be doing the raffle drawing too.
