Date Posted: Sunday, June 22, 12:00:11am In reply to: robert 's message, "sugar boats" on Tuesday, June 03, 09:33:24am I served on the RFA Warden based at Portsmouth as a galley boy for just over six months I am not to sure but it was about 1962 that I was there. The other tug was the RFA Typhoon we used to do a lot of scrap towing, namely old air craft carriers. I remember that we where involved with the rescue of two bar ships that where on there way to europe and one lost its pumps and the other one had radio problems so we had to take into tow the one without pumps and stay with the other one until another tug could shepard it home. This happened in the North sea of course. Just thought that might be of some use to you. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
