Date Posted: Sunday, June 22, 11:43:50am In reply to: Hector McLean AB 's message, "Re: Len" on Sunday, June 22, 10:35:00am Hector I heard about him. Toxteth Terry was a Tyrant Tar. Even his photograph scared sailors near and far. But the worst any sailor could behold was seeing Toxteth Terry the Tyrant Tar appearing on the number three hold. His bottom lip was used as a lighting board for passing tired albatross, his sun burnt teeth made all but the strongest quiver. It was enough to make the Padre at the mission shout never never. Men fainted at the very sight of the Terrible Terry in the dark watch of the night. They prayed to sight old Englands shore and that Terrible Terry would sail no more, that back to Toxteth he would go and stop frightening sailors where ever he go.
