Subject: Hunley Crew Burial

Ladies, Just wanted to share that two of our members participated in the 5 mile procession in Charleston, SC last Saturday to pay tribute to the third crew of the H.L. Hunley Confederate submarine that sank Feb 17, 1864. It was the first submarine to sink an enemy ship in warfare. I joined Glenda Mounger and about a hundred Ladies in Mourning to be a part of 10,000 re-enactors in a 6 hour service that culminated in the 8 Confederates being laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery along side the other crews. What an experience! Looking forward to our School of the Ladies May 1.
