care packages delivered to troops at Franklin '04

A special thanks to all ladies who contributed in the effort to put together care packages for our troops of the MVB.
A few of us had the privilage to hand deliver them to the troops via the Cannon's goat cart, late Sat. night.
The men were very appreciative of the "labor of love".
We had some 80 hand-wrapped (gifts from homefront) as well as large sacks of peanuts, period post cards and pipe tobacco.
Well Done Ladies Aid!!
I would like to make special mention of Victoria Owens for her months of knitting. She managed to knit many mufflers, wristers and night caps. The men said they came in handy on Sat. night when the temp. fell into the 40's. Bravo!!
