Subject: Mass Wasting

From Dunne and Leopold n Easterbrook, it was mentioned that debris avalanche is considered a form of flow.
Why is this the case? Is it based the velocity of the mass movement or the kind of debris present?

In doing the classfication of mass movements, is it sufficient to classfiy them according to just falls, slides, flows and soil creep?
Which are the necessary examples that should be used to illustrate?
Are rockfalls, rock slides, debris slides, slumps, debris avalanche, debris flow, mudflow more than enough?

Thanks for taking time to answer my queriers
