Subject: Qns on Population Control in ecosystems

Dear all,

Have 2 qns to ask actually.

1) On the S-curve, according to the diagram, environmental resistance (ER) is equal to the carrying capacity (CC)? As ER varies in different conditions, this would definitely affect the CC of the plant. So can i presume that for every different S-curve (or is there only 1 S-curve) of a plant, ER is always equal to CC?

2) On the J-curve, populution crashed when it overshot the carrying capacity, but what is the minimum point if it crashes? According to the curve, obviously there is a min. piont before population rises again? So my qn is what is this min. point and what determines this minimum point?

Thank you to anyone who will be answering these 2 questions!
