When a reader describes print floating, moving or distorting in any way, it suggests that they may have Irlen Syndrome. This visual perception disorder affects up to 12.5% of the general population, and MUCH higher in the LD population. While it may not "cure" the learning difficulty, treatment (with precision tinted spectacles) should enable them to engage with the text for much longer, and be able to focus on the task, instead of having to overcome the bothersome movement or distortions. For more information, and to find out your nearest Irlen Clinic, please visit <www.irlen.com>. I can recommend this both as a practitioner of Irlen Diagnostic Assessment, but more importantly, because I have Irlen Syndrome myself and have worn my precision tinted Irlen glasses for many years now, with hugely improved comfort and fluency in reading and writing. Good luck
