Subject: Share your evangelistic success

Many of us feel guilty for not winning more people for Christ. We recall few we have evangelized. We were timid, we feared rejection, or we did not know what to say. Our words seemed to fall onto deaf ears. In the final chapter of The John Wesley Academy, we discuss how true wesleyans actively witness and win people. JWA students have said they would like to read concrete examples of successful evangelistic encounters. Since we are all beggars, share your bread. If you recall a time when you won someone to Christ, write that out in a paragraph or two, and post it here. Don’t decline out of modesty. You are not bragging. You are sharing your Kingdom success with the rest of us, giving us ideas how to fulfill the Great Commission. Recall someone you won. Tell us what you did, what you said...or what you didn’t do or say...that resulted in the evangelistic success. It may have been a series of encounters over time. If using real names might embarrass someone, substitute fictitious ones. If you don’t have such an experience, tell about the person who won you to Christ. What did he or she do or say that persuaded you? If it’s really pithy, I may add it to The John Wesley Academy. --TOM
