*Thin body lean and tremulous, hot eyes sparking with wild ferocity and intense life, the dark mare flickers into the territory, nostrils thick with the sweet scent of the golden steed. Motion grinding to am abrupt halt, nervous eyes flashing with half-trust and wild freedom, she violently quivers, muscles rippling in waves down her tense side. Visibly shaken, but driven by some intense force unseen and only surfacing when coaxed, she lifts one slender fore, sooty gaze searching for the owner of this nearly empty home. Ragged mane flashing blindly with one toss of her head and neck, tail breathing in waves around her slender haunches, she slams the iron hoof back into the ground, print imbedded in the soft turf. A smile flicks the corners of her lips up, stretching and waking to a new sunny future, bright afternoon. Skittering sideways, sun clanging in rivulets along her darkened hair, the golden light soaks her mahogany coat with the fresh promise of a better life - one she knew existed, had barely tasted, and could not wait to discover more of.*
