The stallion ducks his head and twists to the side, rearing up also as the mare goes up. Her hoof hits the side of his face, glancing off his cheek and whacking his neck. As his black hooves slam back to the dirt he grinds his teeth on the feathers, feeling them split and tear udner his teeth. From standstill to a flat gallop, he tears after the fleeing mare ... his speed is notable, for although he is smaller than her at 16HH his stride is very long and he is well used to this terrain. His teeth snap behind her tail, then abuptly he is snapping his forelegs straight, digging them into the ground - momentum helping send his hindquarters twisting right around around to send a wild double-barrelled kick at her rump.
He leaps into the air again and takes off and a wildly twisting and bucking gallop in the other direction back along the line of trees ... for he sees something interesting in the distance.... a fight?
