her acute sense of hearing catching the foal's movements. She canters back throughout the wood to the stream. She steps forth from the dense trees and rears, onyx hooves slashing the air, not caring if anyone sees her this time. She nods to the filly. Ashes.... she says coldly. She stands tall, the wind blowing her long mane and tail. Her once-sparkling coat has lost some of its shine, from weeks of travel and the pain of losing Wolf. Yet she stands proud, retaining her dignity masking the sadness and pain she feels deep in the core of her heart.
