You can do 1 of 2 things. You can re-pot the whole thing into a bigger pot to let them grow together a little longer. That would make for a fuller, more tropical looking plant. It will probably continue to put out new pups (baby plants) as it gets older. So eventually, you'll still have to go to the 2nd option, which you wanted to know about anyway. The most important thing about separating them is to make sure the pup has some roots of it's own. It doesn't need a lot, just enough to get it started.

First thing you need to do is to take it out of the pot. I don't know the type of soil it's planted in. If you can, dig gently between the mother & baby around where they connect. If it's hard soil, you can use a hose & pressure nozzle to wash the dirt from between the two. Then cut them apart about center, or closer toward the mother plant. Then pull them apart & re-pot. Well drained soil mixed with compost is best. Water well once & let drain. You now have 2 plants.

If you loose all the soil from around the roots, it's best to cut off about half the leaves to keep more moisture in the plant while it's making new roots. DON'T OVER WATER AT THIS TIME! I can rot the corm & kill the plant.
