The small group enters, three men, four women. The oldest is a large woman of perhaps thirty seven, the baroness of Fordingbridge's old nanny and now head of the servants within the baroness' household. The other three women ranged between just a few years younger, to only twenty one. They are dressed relatively well for servants, though their clothing is somewhat dirty from travel, a feat soon to be fixed by the youngest of the servants, who whisks the dirty clothing away to the washroom. The elder three remain, settling into a vacant corner of the servants quarters. The younger of the three, the most attractive also, helps settle the others in, though does not place her own belongings down. She was her lady's handmaid, and would stay in rooms nearby the baroness. The only remaining woman was the cook.
The three men move to the men's section, one the gardiner, another the groom, and the third a general worker assisting where necessary. The three also hand their laundry to the two maids, the groom slipping away to the stables to see to the horses. All three were of an age, about thirty.
