He had pulled up sharply as Ice vanished, his hooves kicking up the dust. All the while she is speaking his eyes remain narrowed, muzzle wrinkled in anger. He does not untter a single word, but his eyes grow darker and darker as the doe reveals more about his past.

A few minutes after Ice has gone, he turns his gaze onto Doubt. His body remains motionless, except for the rising and falling of his flanks as he brings his temper slowly under control. His eyes meet hers, but he too has nothing to say. He is watching her, wondering. Is she scared of him? Is all she wants to do is run?

He lets out his breath in a low snort, lifting his head upwards slightly as his expression relaxes. His emotions are unreadable.
"She's a spiteful creature," he growls softly, "but she spoke true."
He watches her, waiting for the inevitable reaction.
