How foolish of me not to include Iron Maiden. They virtually poineered the melodic metal genre singlehandedly. I also like Glind Guardian and Kansas, Old Metallica, and of course Weird Al. I've heard Hammerfall but they sound kind of... er... well, generic, sometimes?

(Styx is still awesome live. Saw them last year, going to see them again at the end of this month. Wheeee!)

Never heard of Edenbridge, I'll go check them out. There's such a limited quantity of bands out there that play the style of music that I like that any suggestion will be immediately followed up on.

You definitely need to check out the latest Wuthering Heights album.

By the way, I entirely agree about Falconer. Their latest album with this squeaky voiced new singer they have really bites it. Their first two albums are much better, with the first being one of my very favorites.
