Subject: Recruiting / growth

Now that the battle.net WOW sites are officially down and the Beta site forums have taken over, there won't be many opportunities for us to recruit on a large basis until open beta and possibly until the game starts. For that reason, expect expansion to be stunted until then.

Unless, that is, you guys can follow the example of the California gang. Peter joined, then his brother joined, now one of their friends has joined, and there's talk of still more people they know joining. That's a great way to grow, since at least a few of us will already know the guild members; it's a little less anonymous. Randy also has a link to the guild site in his AIM profile, that's another good idea along these lines.

Also, I trust you're all getting to know each other, which is good. A minor problem has arisen in that the number of people who use AIM to MSN is very uneven, roughly an eleven to three split, and I use both. (We have sixteen members, so I'm missing somebody somewhere. I'll have to figure that one out later.) Anyway, proposed solutions to this are welcome, and include (but are not limited to): asking the ones who use MSN to get AIM for the good of the group; finding a program we can all use; making more extensive use of the forum (PS, whoever wants a new one, keep working on finding a good one, and keep hounding me aggressively); and migrating to MIRC. Perhaps there are others; it's late and I'm not thinking, so suggest anything.

Stay tuned.
Jim
