makes me wonder just how much authority the coach kept for himself.

and more importantly, I wonder if JD realized that he will probably lose Stewart because of this.

Stewart said he is waiting till the season starts before negotiating a contract extension but I think he's waiting to see how good the cars are. You can bet your sweet ass that if half the Toyotas miss the 500, he will put negotiations on hold again.
