At the break of dawn
Slowly and gently hopped out a fawn
Along with her mother, a beautiful doe,
Tail as white as snow.

The doe trotted to the creek
For a sip with her daughter
And the two magnificent creatures
Lapped up some fresh water.

It was snowing oh so lightly
As the fawn playfully bounded
And stumbled ever so slightly
The doe nuzzled the fawn,
And they continued on.

After a short meal of tree bark and winter shoots,
The mother and daughter galloped through the forest,
And gracefully hurdled over roots.
Once they arrived at their nest
Which was made of grass, leaves and moss,
They both laid down to rest.

Cuddled so close to each other,
Were a lovely daughter and mother.
