I am not sure if I fully understand your question but from what I do understand, I would say to be careful who you are listening to in regards to Bible prophecy or even Bible preaching for that matter. Which prophecy program have you been listening to? Not all prophecy teachers are right on. We must beware. As Christians, we have to be careful who we are allowing to teach us. Even Joyce Meyer, although has some good things to say at times, is a part of the Word of Faith teachers, who believe that Jesus died spiritually, etc. This teaching is blasphemy and is not "Fundamental" biblical teaching. So please be careful. The Scripture which comes to mind regarding studying prophecy would be: 2Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness We notice from the verse that ALL Scripture is profitable. There is nothing wrong with studying Bible prophecy-- as long as the teacher's lesson lines up with Scripture-- rather than speculation. Sadly, much of Bible prophecy teaching is lacking Scripture AND rather relies heavily on speculation or tradition. A problem will arise when one studies Bible prophecy exclusively. In other words, the entire Bible is to be read and read in CONTEXT. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. You grow in Christ Jesus as you walk in Him daily: as you pray daily, as you read the Bible (we recommend the KJV only) and attend church, fellowship with believers. There must be balance in our Christian walk. The devil condemns the Christian but the Holy Spirit never condemns us. The Holy Spirit will show us what areas in our life need to be yielded over to God and will gently guide us in the right direction as we yield to God. There is a blessing given to those who read the Book of Revelation. We read in Chapter 1:3 "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." But even so, one must read the entire bible-- God gave us more to read than Revelation. All Scripture is profitable.
