Subject: Tylin's Toy tied Tylin too tight

Say that ten times fast. (Sorry, couldn't resist. Be honest, would you have?)
Seriously, though, what will our friend the Seeker think when he wakes up in the morning and finds that all sorts of interesting things have happened overnight? I think it'll go something like this -- thoughts anyone?
The most important thing that happened is obviously Tuon's disappearance, but I doubt I'll be able to make head or tail of it until I understand all the littler things. Very well, the least first.
Beslan was more ostentatiously drunk than at any time since we took the city. He's been known to frequent the taverns and enjoy a drink or five, but never has it been so... noticeable. Ordinarily I wouldn't worry, but on top of everything else, file it away.
Tylin was found bound and gagged in her bedroom, in a fine fettle because her Toy had been interrupted in the process of leaving when she returned early, and tied her up to keep her from following.
Something's a little odd about her story though... for someone in a hurry, Toy did an awfully thorough job, why would he take the time to make a line to keep her from wriggling out into the corridor? Then, too, there wasn't much sign of a struggle. There was some, but I'd've expected much more... particularly as SHE surprised HIM. So it seems that Tylin may be lying. Why? No, too early to ask that yet.
Some granaries were burned, in an obvious diversion, by men known to favor Beslan. At the same time, lots of damane were freed by a person or persons unknown. An attempt to foment revolt? Possibly... wait. Beslan wasn't there, at either "there." In fact, Beslan made DAMN SURE he had witnesses that he was elsewhere. Beslan got drunk as an alibi! Come to think of it, that may be why Tylin had herself tied up in her bedroom: so nobody could possibly connect them to the scenes of the crimes. Is this connected to Tuon's leaving, though? Still a maybe, but I don't believe in coincidence.
And of course, Tuon left in the dead of night, and so did Toy and his men -- they really are gone, Tylin didn't lie about that -- with Egeanin. Supposedly only a minor Blood, but connected not only to Tuon (now) but also to Suroth and Turak, as well; the three highest officials in the Return. A lot of connections for a minor ship captain... and then there's the Domon so'jhin. He left too, but that's only to be expected. And Bethamin, who I only just made Listener. It would seem that despite her protests, she's in this up to her neck too. To have her arrested, or leave her where she is? Arrest. If she's in with Egeanin likely she'll have told her she's Listening. A pretty crowd; all it needs are Suroth and an Aes Sedai.
Since this was at nearly the same time as the Beslan thing, I have to believe it was orchestrated, probably some time in advance. What's the link? Toy? Some of my other Listeners tell me that Tuon has had some interest in Toy from day one, almost. Yes, he's been planning to go for a week now. Clever of him, really, to hide in plain sight like that. Who would think to ask who he's taking with him? Probably he arranged the escape and was the link between the Seanchan branch and the local branch of the conspiracy.
Everything seems to be fitting together, I think I'm beginning to see a pattern. Who else left? The innkeeper Anan. What could she have to do with... of course, what better place for reconnaisance than an inn? People talk, they have a few drinks, they talk some more... never suspecting that the innkeeper might be listening attentively. Then when time comes that the conspiracy is getting ready to leave, she sells the inn. What could be more innocuous? BUT she delays a couple of days before handing over the actual keys to what's-her-name the new innkeeper. Of course -- ready to leave at a moment's notice, but staying until that moment came. I didn't expect Anan, but she fits right in. In fact, I should have expected her.
Let's see, who else? A couple of sul'dam. Renna Emain and Seta Zarbey, it says here. ...Who have some kind of unspecified connection to Suroth, of all people.
Well, well, well.
Note to self: find out who if anyone was poking around the damane kennels late last night. (Later) No one was seen there late, but about nine, this would have to be pretty much just before she left -- Egeanin was arguing to take one of the damane. A former Aes Sedai no less. On the authority, so she said, of ...Suroth.
My my my my my.
It all fits. The precision of the fit sends chills down my spine. The sul'dam note which damane can be safely uncollared, or not as it were, and report them to Suroth. Suroth gives the order to actually unleash them -- that's why she didn't leave last night, she was still needed here -- Tuon and the others beat it, in an exodus orchestrated by Toy, taking with them their most valuable people not still needed here (Tylin and Beslan obviously have to stay, and anyway they might still be very useful to the conspiracy here) and alibiing the ones who can't go. Meanwhile Beslan's people take care of the diversions that see to it that no one catches on to any of this until it's too late. Very neatly done, Toy, I applaud you. It will almost be a shame to have to order your death.
