Battle lust mingled with fear, drumbeats echoing off of the very walls. "Surrender if you want to," Her voice was still gentle, still peacefully calm in its resolve, "I can't blame you." She had been outcaste once, and was risking it again. Golden eyes shifted to Damuthca, the glare that no longer surrounded him. "Is it better for him to die than suffer this?" She thought out loud, looking away from those that surrounded her. She knew the pain that tore through him, knew the feeling of slowly losing one's self to another's will. "Better death than being a pawn?" She walked to him, footsteps falling without sound as every lord tensed. "I would trade if I could, you know." She kneeled down and brushed hair from his eyes. He was lax beneath her fingers. "I tried to, and you wouldn't let me." Once again she looked at those around her, their stares as she had spoken. Accusation and confusion replacing one another without pattern. She could do it now, remove a card from the deck forever. Remove the only thing that restrained her from anger. Remove... ...would she harm herself to save them? Yes. I don't want to do this. Then don't. She looked up again, not realizing her eyes had once more dropped to Damuthca, studying the outlines of his face, the stain of blood that had fallen from his peirced lip. "Tomorrow we don't fight.
