In reply to: Johan 's message, "going through these changes" on 07/ 4/05 3:05:21pm Mon

Myuler reached up and ran his hand over the smooth scales, feeling not only the texture of what an Ith'Dakar felt like, but the residue of the magic that had changed the man.

Quizzically he brushed the flat of his hand along Johan as though he was brushing off something dusty and looked at his hand. He played with what he could visibly see, but Johan couldn't even though Johan would know what it was Myuler was toying with. Myuler held it like a ball, and turned it over looking at it like such.

"Well...I have some good news, and some bad news."

"You better not tell me you can't change me back, because if you do, you'd better pick up one of my swords and put it through me"

"Drastic, but no, I can change you back. The good news is that this disease you have has completely stopped. Bad new is I can't change you back for a few days until this residue wears off, otherwise you'll just change right back to a snake-man."

"Have you considered using a continuous duration spell that changes me into a human? It'll counter the effect of the other polymorph until the residue wears off... therafter, you can cancel the continuous duration spell, and change me back to what I'm supposed to be... a forgotten."

"Ugh, you know how annoying time-related spells are to make?"

" You know how annoying it is to be an Ith'Dakar? Have you considered that if any of my soldiers see me like this, they'll kill me? have you considered how annoying it is to be in a position of vulnerability. You're giving the enemy time Myuler. In eight thousand years, have you not learned what that means? They did this for a reason."

"How are they going to be able to kill you, if they can't see you? Think man. Look at who you're talking to. I can rush it and do it in a day and a half. An invisibilty spell is easier, and safer to do than constantly making you shift back when you start to change again."

"I've never been concerned about safety, and you forget... someone did this for a reason Myuler. You know as well as I can geuss what might happen if I get too near a queen... and gold to copper says that they're banking on just this."

"You may not be concerned about safety, but I am. Call me soft, but you're a dear friend and I'd rather make fixing this as painless as possibly rather than see you in pain any more. Or haven't you ever noticed, all my transformation spells are rather painless. No Johan. I need a few hours to see what I need to help get rid of this residue, first. Then I'll work on changing you back. Don't argue with me."

"...Myuler, I have to argue... but if you need to speed it up, use my armor; that suit eats magic. Always leeched it right out of me whenever I was wearing it, and, if you feed a subtle flow of magic through my body while it is near enough I can touch it... it should be like tossing meat to a hungry dog. The dog will start looking for more."

"Would that armor fit you as you are? Last I saw a Forgotten's build was quite a bit leaner than that," as he waved a hand toward Johan's new form.

"It doesn't have to fit me Myuler... I just have to be able to touch it."

" That magic is more on you than in you. I'd have to find a way of 'washing it off'. Granted yes you could just roll a piece over your body till it was gone, but I'd still need some of it on you in order to have an anchor to break. Just hang tight, old boy. Gimmy a couple of hours. I'll find a less destructive way of reversing this. Besides, how better to know your enemy, than to be your enemy? Just roll with it, I'm good at pulling things out of my ass."

"Fine, but, do me a favor... I don't want any magic that could take me from where I am right now, getting in here. Two, I don't want anything even looking like a snake within smelling distance."

"The first one is no problem, the second one I have no control over. Cover your nose?"

"... Or you could just put me into stasis until you're ready to fix the problem. If there is no function at all in my brain, then you can neither influence my mind, nor my body, since it won't be functioning either."

"No, I need you aware. If I put you in stasis, it'll put the magic in stasis too, and then you'll have to wait even longer. You worry too much. Go chill in my study on the second floor, at least there you'll be above ground level. Don't worry, no one can see in the window."

And with that Myuler held up his hand, and bade no more arguement as he turned with 'ball in hand' down to his lab in the basement.
