Tiani gimped into the palace, Misty beneath her shoulder and a pained expression on her face. The guards were everywhere, running wildly about, looking under couch cushions and furniture as though they had lost something very important.

Tiani didn't care. They could have lost the queen for all it mattered to her at that moment. She wanted to have a word with Emi, and they were going to provide it one way or another.

Two options, she thought quietly. We have a nice peaceful discussion, or this building goes down in a pile of rubble.

She stopped a guard. "I need a healer and Regent Emillia. I have important news about the refugees."
