Right.
I'm one of those who got cheated a lot (money).
I have learned that people could use that of me and hurt my feeling. (I have experienced of ATM card being stolen by a 'friend' and emptied all my saving account.)
After that experience, I asked myself, would I trust again.
The answer is yes. I would rather be cheated than to miss the opportunity to help someone in need.
I tell myself, it is no big deal. Money lost could be earned again.
After that, I still have a few experience of being cheated, but I believed that I have helped a whole lot more people because I let my guard down.
That was years ago. Now, because I'm more mature now, it is not as easy to cheat me, relatively speaking.
Christ command me to love, to care, to assist in His name. It is a command, not a suggestion.
I know my limit, and have selected some 'target group' for me to work on.
If we opened our eyes, we would find people do need us.
Do you know that there is no anti-racial discrimination law in Hong Kong? The HK government has delated the consultation for such law to Sept this year.
Do you know that there are no anti-stalking law in Hong Kong? Women who were abused, are trapped even if they go to the police and reported that they were being stalked.
Do you know that the Education and Manpower Bureau has implemented a new policy that sent a lot of ethnic minority children to Cantonese Medium schools without given any resources or assistant to their adjustment?
Care to know more? There are a few persons who are actively involve in helping. They are overwhelmed by the tasks ahead.
I would never know about this if I only attend the so-called-main-stream churches.
If you want to care for your neighbors, don't rely on your church to find them for you.
