The eternal young drake responds to Raistlin's catty insult with nothing more than a mere blink of his eye. "I think she had something against me, actually," he says mildly. "She damn near got us both killed." His head tilts slightly in surprise. Famina? A Healer?
And the Ordeal had provided him with more than just his absurd reverse-zebra coloration, the black temporary and the white scars as near to permanent as anything can be to a dragon. Indeed... he realizes that with his Power he can finally cloak his thoughts from the mind-reading Shadow Lord... and from any other with that skill. Carefully, somewhat clumsily (as he has never before attempted this), he wraps a thick 'cloud' of obscurance around his mind, blocking any intruder from invading his privacy. Immediately he relaxes significantly, as Raistlin loses one of his advantages over the normally dark purple Prince Regent and Bob continues his speech.
"Thank you for your generous offer, my Lord," he responds with nothing but honest appreciation in his voice as his eyes swivel to take in the Shadow Princess. His gaze flickers slightly, moderately intrigued by her quiet but utterly genuine words. Unlike Raistlin's offer, which he believed to have been more of a boast and a put-down than anything else, Jeispera seemed to have been sincere. How amusing; the Shadow Lord certainly does not inspire devout loyalty among his offspring. This thought he cloaks with additional care as he glances briefly toward Wytch Hazel before returning to the one he has for so long abhorred.
~*~Raistlin.~*~ he says into the black tormentor's mind. ~*~Raistlin, Shadow Lord, King of Everdark... we have been at odds for too long. I would like to propose an alliance between yourself and myself, silent and covert. Your domain has been shrinking as your age has been growing but I'd much rather have you as a friend than a foe. If it would give you pleasure I'll still pretend to hate your guts... but for now, a ceasefire.~*~ And his amethyst eyes smolder as he glares at Raistlin, showing him exactly how well he could pretend if asked to do so.
Improved vastly? Had Bob probed the mind of his old friend he would have been flattered by that thought. Perhaps his changes had been improvements, perhaps not. The one thing he'd gotten much, much better at... was acting.
