His eyes do not pierce so much as corrode; they eat away all the layers of manners, eloquence, and other such false pretenses and stare down into the barest soul that is left. Hers, however, spear the unwary like a harpoon through the wing, taking you away to be consumed at will. So in his own way, the bronze and white dragon is far more subtle than the aureate Queen believes him to be.
