Could "flaming" be a good thing? Sometimes we need to express ourselves in the heat of the moment, before the emotion is diluted. Has anybody heard the old adage of never going to bed angry with your husband/wife? I think this is a good example of nipping problems in the bud, and sometimes this requires emotional "airing", or in the internet world "flaming". My feeling is that emotions, when not "aired" become latent, and sometimes gain intensity without our knowing why. It is my contention however, that appropriate emotional communication requires skill, regardless of the medium through which the communication takes place. I do believe that CMC, because it is low in "richness", necessitates greater communicative skills.
