Subject: Paul, my advice is to stop using Internet Explorer. Sometimes the anti spyware and anti pop ups that you install don't work. When it comes to speed and how pages are displayed accurately, Internet Explorer is still the best but when it comes to security it is the worst among all the browsers. It is very vulnerable to hackers and what they call browser hijackers. Sometimes you go into a site and next thing you know you have all kinds of spywares installed in your system and you get all these ads popping up like crazy and these are diffcult to remove and it slows down your computer and sometimes to a point where your computer is no longer usable until you reformat your system to delete all these programs that were installed in you computer illegaly without your consent.

  • Backup your files always. Save them to CDs and be careful on going to sites that are doubtful and before you click on anthing especially if the site ask you to click on something, make sure that it is safe and think about it first. There are a lot of these deceitful websites out there so be careful. I wish Microsoft would improve this security vulnerablity soon for IE expolorer is a good browser but for the meantime you could use browsers such as Firefox, Opera, SBCYahoo Browsers and others. You could still use Internet Explorer if you would like but use it for websites that you already know that are safe and for websites you often visit. I use Firefox and I could recommend it to everyone. You'll be surprise that you will no longer have pop ups and spywares. You can download Firefox at this site: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ . Hope this helps. Good luck. (NT) -- mod, 12/15/04 4:06am
