Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Jones, Ms. Potter, Faculty members, Fellow graduates, Friends, ladies and gentlemen

Good evening.

In behalf of the graduating class, I would like to express our thanks to the faculty and the administration of this institution for their guidance, patience, and perseverance in helping us achieves our goal. They have shared with us their knowledge and skill, answered our countless questions, magically made simple the most complex of ideas, and most importantly, they challenged us to think for ourselves.
For this we will always be grateful.

My fellow graduates, let us thank God for giving us the strength, patience, and courage to make it to this day. I say to you……………smile Nomencia!!!………. Look around you and smile at each other; shake each other’s hands. We made it.
This day marks the culmination of our labors. No more long nights of study, no more long weekends of research, and no more unit test and finals, This is the end…………. Let us give ourselves a round of applause.

Yet my fellow graduates, we must not stop here. Let us make this day not just the end but a new beginning. As we page through the book of life, we begin the chapter on facing the real world. We begin new careers and new lives transitioning from student to a more productive member of mankind. Let us pledge to make a difference.

We may not change the word but if we can change ourselves, our neighborhoods and our communities for the better then all of this hard work would have been worthwhile. Maybe someday, twenty or thirty years from now, we will look back on this date; as the day we became full-fledged graduate nurses.

For me this day is doubly special. For a Filipino-American, mother of three, there is no other place on earth which could have given me the opportunity to receive the kind of education I have attained. To graduate in this country is an honor I will forever cherish. I just wish my parents and relatives could have been here with me tonight.

Lastly and most importantly, I would like to thank my family; my husband who believed in me, supported me all the way, and encouraged me in my moments of self doubt. He never wavered in his confidence in me, and for that I am most thankful.

Most of all, I dedicate this day to my children, who gave me the inspiration to succeed. Thank you for doing my share of housework, being well-behaved, and for being cooperative.
Fellow graduates, congratulations once again, and may you have the best of luck in everything you do………

Thank you very much…….
