  • Micaela, there are few caterers in Tagudin waiting to be hired by you. You can even hire caterers from outside Tagudin if you would like. I believe one of the caterers from these weddings is a gentleman named Rufo Encarnacion. I am not sure about the cost of the catering but for the reception area go to Seaside Park Rates Page.   Thank you for setting up a Website (Message board of Tagudin). This is a nice way of getting in touch with friends/classmates and relatives. I miss My beloved Town Tagudin. I graduated in St. Agustine's School and guess what? I don't remember what year it was. Although, I remember some of my fellow classmates and their names are: The Lacasandeli sisters; Perlita, Adelia, and Enrequita. Jerry Labitoria, Mildred Lardizabal and Fatima Lardizabal, Sophia Andaya, Enrique (He was our Valedictorian)
  And Adelina Leal. Our teachers were: Mr. and Mrs. Andaya, Evelyn Alvares Malamion, Ms. Apusen Bless her soul and May she rest in peace. She was strict but I learned a lot from her. She's wonderful person and I cherish her memory.

    • Marie, This is Jerry Labitoria, SAS Class 75. Right now, plans are being made for our 30th grand reunion which is scheduled this May 26-28, 2005. The Class 75 organization was already estblished and had finished a project in SAS compound last 2003. This is the constrauction of a new CR adjacent to the building. For now we are planning to push the scholarship program for our less capable classmates for the college education of the children.   Dear Larry, I wish our batch will have an exclusive website where we can communicate, share photos,tell jokes--things like that. It should require a password though that way not everybody can view it. Let me know what you think about this. I came up with this idea hoping more of our batchmates will touch-base with us and it should bring us closer to each other.Robert & I are very excited about having a re-union.It's been 26 years since we graduated from our Alma Mater!   • Evelyn, that is a good idea but the problem is would people visit it? My suggestions is to first observe how many people are really interested from our class and if their is a clamor for it then a website would be worthile oherwise e-mailing each other is great way of communicating to each other and you can be as privates as can with that.   • Hi Evelyn, don't worry the plans for the reunion is for 2006 - we're planning this early while still searching for most of them. This is a good start to let everyone (who's visiting this site) know of our plans for 2006.   Wow what a great website. I just happened to stumble into your site when one of my sons ask where I grew up in the Philippines. The photos brought back memories. I was in Tagudin at a young age, attended SAS for a short time. I was living my my grandmother Vicenta R. Cuaresma in Tagudin while my parents were here in the states. We soon came to the states to join them. My mother, Aniceta Cuaresma Valdez is currently residing there. Do you know her? I haven't made a trip back "home" since I was young. Now that I have a my own family here in Michigan, my three sons, Anthony, 14 yrs, Domenic, 11 yrs. and Brandon 9 yrs wonder where I grew up. My husband Tony,it sometimes ponder the idea of visiting my birthplace. My someday when all of our children are grown and we will have time to travel.
  I had lost in touch with everyone back there but sometimes wonder how everyone is doing. My memories of Tagudin is somewhat foggy since I came to the states at a young age of 10 but it sure is wonderful to visit your website and view the pictures and show my children where i spent part of my childhood.

  • Hello Juliet, welcome. I am glad that you found this site. With the last names of Cuaresmas and Valdez, you are definitely from Tagudin. Your mother sounds familiar but my parents who are also now residing in Tagudin sure know your parents. Like your mom, they opted to go back to Tagudin after their retirement from the States. I do remember the late Tang Piring Cuaresma who lived along the highway right before Las-ud if he was a relative of yours. You might be even be a distant relative of mine. My father is from Candon but my grandfather's (my moms father) middle name is also Valdez. Hopefully your relatives who would be passing by this message board would see your message. I will mention your message to my mother when I get a chance to talk to her. Regards to your family and I think it would be a wonderful idea for your to go back and visit Tagudin someday.   To the family of the late Manang Edna Lorenzana Mun (Chicago) who joined her Creator this month, to the husband Mr. Mun, children, Nang Puring, Manong Eddie and family, Emma and family, Arnel and family and other relatives---the officers, members, friends and acquaintances, wish to extend our deepest condolences and prayers on her passing away.   Thank you so much for putting this website up. I was just wondering what I could find about Tagudin on the Internet when I stumbled upon this site. What a great way to put the town on the map, at the same time provide a way to link up Tagudinians from far and near! Tagudin has a very special place in my heart. I grew up with my lola "Sepa" (Josefa La Madrid), whose house is just a few steps away from the plaza. I attended Tagudin Elementary School from Grade 1 to 4 and SAS for my 2nd year of high school (77-78). I have very fond memories of those years, especially of that one year I studied in SAS. Some of my classmates were Melanie Padayao, Nora Jimenea, Rhodora Ramirez, Manolito Martinez, Leila Lite to name a few. I've always wished I had stayed on to finish HS there, but Lola decided to return to Canada and I went back to my parents in Manila. The last time I saw Tagudin was in 1983, for my Lola Sepa's funeral. The photos (Town Hall and Bio Bridge) conjured up so many memories and, at an instant, transported me back to my days there. It made me miss the place all the more. I left for Canada in 1987 and have gone back to the Phils twice since, but we couldn't make it to Tagudin on both occasions. You can bet the next time we go home, we will make it a point to go to Tagudin and to visit Seaside Park. Thanks again so very much for this website. I haven't gone through the whole message board yet, but I will - in time. Who knows, I may even come across someone I know!   Some of the photos are recent and some are old and these are all I have.
  If you have any picture or better pictures than what are already in the gallery to share to everyone, please send them to me via e-mail so I can include them in the photo gallery just as long as they are photos of Tagudin. I would be happy to credit your name to be seen at the site.

Going for a visit will always be an option for you in the future. Your relatives will be there to welcome you. The Philippines is a different country compared to the states or any other country but if you give a lot of heart to it and don't have lots of expectations, you will have a wonderful and memorable time.     • Also, the best time of the year to go to the Philippines is probably around September to February for the weather is more pleasant. March to May is very warm (mid 90's daily) and everything is brown but also this is when the fruits are in season such as mangoes and others and June to September is the rainy season.   • There is no bar or disco at Seaside Park. I think there are videoke bars nearby in Libtong or Bitalag but I'm not totally sure. You are probably a batchmate of mine though I went to SLU Boys High in Baguio and SAS. I left Tagudin when I was in my third year of high school in 1977. Most of my classmantes in Las-ud Elem. went to TGCHS. If these names are familiar to you, they were my classmates - Marianne Lelina now a doctor, Flordeliz Lopez who is a nurse and also living in the states, Ethel Mina, Vangie Manzano, Virginia Lopez.
