You see, before my old herd died off or was captured, I had a mate, Apache's Royale. We had just one daughter, who was captured by humans when she was but a foal. I agonized so, watching from as near as I could be as she was beaten." The mare's eyes take on a look of hurt at the memories. "When finally I had to leave the valley, I was certain she must be dead. Even after I came here and met Orion, I never had another foal." She grins. "But she wasn't dead, she escaped, and came here, at least that's all I've gathered."
