There once was a person, a person I once knew,
Who always did, what one ought to do,
Those simple things both right and true.

What happened to that person, that person I once knew?
Got lost somewhere far away,
And lost their heart along the way.

I now know a person, a person I now know,
Who does the things that break me down,
Those subtle killers that make you frown.

Times have changed and people too,
There once was a person, a person I once knew.
And even though the days are new,
I still wonder through and through.
What happened to that person, that person I once knew?
